About Me
My 7 years of experience in Physics, Astronomy, and ELD Teaching & Curriculum Design allowed me to foster my empathy, research, design, organization, and leadership skills. Through the pandemic I proved that I could get things done when the world turned upside down by leading the way for my colleagues, test driving new technology, and stepping up to manage projects when leaders were out.
Coupled with my creativity and vision oriented mindset, this makes me uniquely positioned to be a great UX Designer and teammate who empathizes with users, sees the details in data, & harmonizes those with the big vision goals of stakeholders. I enjoy empowering my team to design products that solve the big problems - conservation, social justice, and making the world more accessible, equitable, intuitive, and easier to use.

What are people saying about Emily?
"... She clearly understood the project details and did outstanding work in Figma. She created several new screens for our prototype and was very detail oriented with her work. Emily was a great communicator and brought fresh ideas to the table that added value to the business. ... I would highly recommend her and hope to bring her back for future projects."
"... She was wonderful to work with... She took thoughtful and thorough notes regarding the engineering and project needs and specifications and was very careful to address each one of these requirements. The designs were above and beyond our expectations & included so much additional work that we didn't expect. I would love to work with Emily again in the future."
" ... [She] sought out professional development, read research, and engaged in collaborative experiences that furthered her capacity as an educator.
.... Being a teacher requires one to think on their feet, and Ms. Stollmeyer has shown her ability to navigate from one direction to another based on her students' pressing needs."
"...She continued to constantly modify what she did based on feedback and evidence she collected from teaching. ... I observed her develop into a leader, diplomatically pushing back when appropriate to help influence positive change. ... SFUSD Physics is losing a strong role model, innovator, and collaborator as Emily moves on. ..."
